How was the Internet Retailer Conference?
IRC San Diego was great. We met up with old friends, made some new ones, and found some great partners for our clients. 500 friends especially was great, and we’ve already implemented Order Groove for a client.
We went with a push for what we call Social Remarketing – a bundled suite of services driven by the knowledge and experience that says “Social Media does have an ROI.”
As an agency, the challenge is which of these widgets – and no offense is meant by that term – can best serve what client. There were 100′s of great ideas, but my feeling is that without context, that these ideas are mostly meaningless. So aside from the new business we picked up at the show, the higher-level take-away for us was hat we have lots of work to do evaluating these “widgets” for our clients. It’s easy to get seduced by a sexy idea, and our challenge is to make them work long term. Which casts us as Marriage Counselors, I guess.
